Body and Appearance 1. Describe the character's height and build. Are they heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Helena is short, barely reaching 5’3”. She’s a bit stocky, and often described - politely - as very round. Round face, round breasts, round booty. 2. How old are they? Sixteen. 3. Describe their posture. Do they carry themself well or do they slouch? She usually hold herself up straight, because people have a hard enough time taking her seriously. She carries herself up and with attitude, usually tense and waiting for something to happen. 4. How is their health? Are they fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? She has no real health issues, though she personally thinks she might have an anger problem. She’s not very fit either, but won’t get winded at the sight of stairs. 5. How do they move? Are they clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Helena is tense and moves quickly. There’s purpose about her, and attitude when she goes places. Most of the time people move for her and not the other way around. 6. How attractive is this character physically? How do they perceive themself in the mirror? Helena is a very attractive girl and she hates it. She knows she’s attractive, and so does everyone else. If she had any less vanity she’d do something to physically mar herself and make her seem less appealing, but it is nice to sometimes look in the mirror and realize you could be a model. If only people would stop trying to use that as a pick up line. 7. Describe their complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Helena is Latina and therefore has that rich mocha skin. She has a beauty mark below her left eye, and several moles and beauty marks peppering her skin. Her hands are a bit rough, but otherwise her skin is fairly smooth. 8. Describe their hair: color, texture, style. Dark, hair with some brown-ish highlights. Curly, and usually a little rough because she styles it with mousse and gel most of the time. It’s very thick and there’s a lot of it, tumbling down just past her shoulders. 9. What color are their eyes? Dark brown. 10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Nope, not really. 11. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or do they have six of the same suit? She wears a lot of stylistic tops, often in bright colors or with words or sayings on them, or with pictures of cartoon movie characters. Tight jeans or skirts, but the skirts are usually knee length. Plenty of accessories, earrings, necklaces, rings. 12. Do they dress the same on the job as they do in their free time? If not, what are the differences? She would not dress the same for a job. A job would include more blacks and whites, and more appropriate clothing. 13. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Do their underwear match (their bra, their outfit)? Cute undies, that usually match her cute bras, but not always. Lots of animal print and bright colors. /div> 14. What about other aspects of their personal grooming? Do they spend a lot of time on their hair? Use a lot of product? Wear a lot of makeup? Manicure their nails? Spends plenty of time styling her hair, and making sure it looks good, and wears plenty of makeup. Dark colored lipstick, and lighter eye shadow.
Speech 1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Alto if she were to join the choir, with a lilt of hispanic attitude with it. It’s a big gruff, with a teeny bit of nasal tone to it. 2. How do they normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Do they talk easily, or do they hesitate? Helena never hesitates when she speaks. She talks loud and fast and in your face. You always know what she’s thinking. 3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Hints of a hispanic accent. 4. What language/s do they speak, and with how much fluency? Other than English she is fluent in Portugese, and nearly fluent in Spanish. 5. Do they switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Yes, when she particularly mad she’ll start ranting in portugese. 6. Are they a good impromptu speaker, or do they have to think about their words? She almost never thinks about her words, but that doesn’t make her a good impromptu speaker. 7. Are they eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? She always has plenty of words to say, but they’re not exactly always pretty.
Mental and Emotional 1. How intelligent is this character? Are they book-smart or street-smart? Surprisingly intelligent. She’s acing all her classes, and even taking some advanced ones. She’s good at reading a situation for what it’s worth. However her intelligence is hindered by her lack of ability to make intelligent decisions most of the time. 2. Do they think on their feet, or do they need time to deliberate? A little bit of both, but she often acts first, thinks later. It depends a lot on the situation. 3. Describe the character's thought process. Are they more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Helena wants the world to be a certain way, and it frustrates her that it’s not. She lashes out at people she deems not worthy or don’t fit on with her world view, and speaks out against wrong doing. She’s not afraid to stand up for the little person, then turn around and tell the little person they need to stand up for themselves. 4. What kind of education has the character had? Public school education. 5. What are their areas of expertise? What, if anything, are they interested in learning more about? She’s pretty good at chemistry and basic psychology. Psychology not being something she really studies, but she’s good at reading people and predicting what they’re feeling and what they might do. This is of course limited, and incredibly hindered by her temper and attitude. 6. Are they an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert with minor introvert tendencies. 7. Describe the character's temperament. Are they even-tempered or do they have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? She leans toward angry almost all the time, not that she is. She’s just very short tempered, and doesn’t have time to deal with anything she doesn’t want to. She’ll snap one minute, but be perfectly friendly the next. She’s used to putting up a front, so she keeps the attitude in on mode all the time, but there are moments she lets her guard down and just wants to be a sad girl. 8. How do they respond to new people or situations? Are they suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Once upon a time she was excited to meet new people and make new friends, but as she got older that excitement turned to suspicion and spite with the way people often stereotyped her. 9. Are they more likely to act, or to react? Act. She almost always acts first. 10. Which is their default: fight or flight? Fight. She’d rather get into a fist fight, then walk away from an argument. 11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Do they appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? She has a bit of a sardonic sense of humor. Cynical. At first. But get to know her and get past her tough exterior, and she really just loves to have fun and pull pranks. 12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how do they deal with them? She believes she has anger management issues. 13. What events in this character's life have defined them as a person? The way people and society have treated her over the years. She’s a pretty girl, and dresses to accentuate her look, and people take this to mean that she’s easy, slutty, and likes to sleep around with people. Girls hated her because guys paid attention to her and started calling her a slut, whore, and spreading nasty rumors about her. Guys hated her because they’d flirt and at first she would flirt back, but as soon as things got physical she would shut them down, not being interested in a sexual relationship without a relationship first. So then they started calling her a bitch, and frigid, also spreading rumors. Some guys even claimed to have slept with her and calling her a loose ho. All of this had made her mistrusting of people, extremely defensive, and generally derisive and dismissive of people. Instead of letting it slide off her shoulders, she stands up for herself and challenges anyone about it. 14. What do they fear? She fears that maybe, deep down inside, what people say about her is true. She also fears that her friends might start to believe the rumors eventually. She also really, really hates bugs. Like really. . 15. What are their hopes or aspirations? She wants to overcome the rumors and have people treat her like an actual person. She wants to make actual friends who will see her for the girl she is, and not the piece of ass. 16. What is something they don't want anyone to find out about them? How much she cries.
Relationships 1. Describe this character's relationship with their parents. She lives with both her parents and grandmother. She’s not real close with either parent, but she’s not distanced from them either. Her and her mom get along and go shopping together when they can. Her dad is the one that pushes her academically. Both are headstrong individuals and encourage Helena to always challenge herself. 2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? No siblings 3. Are there other blood relatives to whom they are close? Are there ones they can't stand? She’s close with her grandmother who migrated to the U.S from Portugal and always has a story to tell. She’s a very kind but stubborn old lady who takes shit from no one. 4. Are there other, unrelated people whom they consider part of their family? What are their relationships with them? Once she had a friend since elementary school, a girl named Wendy. They did everything together, had sleepovers all the time, did each others hair and nails, played dress up. They were practically inseparable until middle school when Wendy all but fell in love with this one guy, and he ended up showing interest in Helena who was completely uninterested in him. When Wendy saw them though, she became spitefully jealous, and it ruined their friendship. After a huge falling out, they don’t talk anymore. 5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? See above 6. Do they have other close friends? Not at the start of the story. 7. Do they make friends easily, or do they have trouble getting along with people? Not particularly. Someone has to really prove their worth being her friend, and be able to put up with her attitude. 8. Which do they consider more important: family or friends? Family. Friends don’t last, but family is forever. 9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Have they been married more than once? Single. 10. Are they currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Nope. 11. Who was their first crush? Who is their latest? Her first crush was a boy in sixth grade who loved to play games with her and Wendy. They played tag, tetherball, fake swordfights. He was a breath of fresh air, and never treated either of them as girls. She asked him out, and he said yes, and they dated for two weeks until she tried to kiss him and he freaked out. By the time she hit high school she stopped crushing on people. 12. What do they look for in a romantic partner? Confidence. Kindness. Honesty. 13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how do they relate to them? If no, do they want any? Nope. 14. Do they have any rivals or enemies? Alex Skinner drives her crazy because he’s such a wuss. And she constantly wants to rip the hair off of Skylar Gould’s head.
Beliefs 1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well do they fit the stereotype? Pretty well. She’s social and vain enough to fit in the libra type, but outspoken and firery enough for her sag rising. The sag balances out the dislike of conflict, and her scorpio moon adds to the intensity of her emotions. 2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in their life? Her family is prominantly Catholic, and so is she by association. She doesn’t take it very seriously however. She attended church as a child, but not so much anymore. Occasionally when things get really rough, she’ll shoot off a prayer for guidance and patience. 3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? She’s not above light shoving around or berating someone, but she does have her own code. She’s not about to sleep with just anyone. For her there has to be some kind of relationship. She has to know them, to like them, and to feel comfortable with them. There has to be something special before she opens her legs to a guy. Just about nothing can get her to compromise that. 4. How do they regard beliefs that differ from theirs? Are they tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Depends on the beliefs. Tolerant of other spiritual beliefs, but man, if you believe you don’t need to stand up for yourself or others she’s got a thing or two to say about that. 5. What prejudices do they hold? Are they irrational or do they have a good reason for them? Oh, she’s plenty irrational. She’s prejudiced against most men, who even so much as look twice at her, and against weak individuals. Her reasons stem of course from the way she was raised, to how she was treated by her peers.
Daily Life 1. What is the character's financial situation? Are they rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Average second class citizen. Living fairly comfortable, with occasional excess. 2. What is their social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected them? Her social status took a sudden shift throughout middle school as her attitude became worse. She went from being a somewhat popular, friendly girl to a snappy, defensive rage bitch. 3. Where do they live? House, apartment, trailer? Is their home their castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Do they share it with others? The Ramirez house is a fairly nice four bedroom suburban neighborhood deal. Fancy wood floors, with nice rugs, plenty of decor to show off. Her mom likes extravagance, and her dad indulges. She likes her home well enough, but to her it doesn’t feel homey. She stays in her room when she can, but even that can get stifling. She likes to sit out in the back yard, or hang out elsewhere as much as possible 4. Besides the basic necessities, what do they spend their money on? Clothes. Makeup. Trinkets. 5. What do they do for a living? Are they good at it? Do they enjoy it, or would they rather be doing something else? Student. And she does parttime work as a barista. She enjoys it some days, and hates it others. 6. What are their interests or hobbies? How do they spend their free time? She listens to a lot of music, and spends a lot of time reading, or writing journal entries. She wants to publish a book of her life someday. She’s a typical teenager though, and music and television take up a lot of her time. 7. What are their eating habits? Do they skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? Nana always makes sure there’s a bit breakfast for everyone. So she’s usually up early enough for it. Nana also makes her lunch, so she’s almost always got something to eat. Either her mom or Nana cooks dinner, and it’s always a family affair. They sit at the table and eat and talk about their lives and how they’re going. Helena usually just tries to stay quiet and let the others talk.
Sexuality 1. Give a description of their genitals (if any). Uh, none available at this point 2. Any size preference? N/A 3. Sexual orientation? Where do they fall on the Kinsey scale? Describe their worst sexual experience, if any. If none, describe their nightmare sexual experience. Nightmare sexual experience would be rape. 6. Are they a dominant or submissive partner in bed? Sex is an act between two people who love each other and want to express that love, and nothing else. That is what sex is. If you want to use sex in any other way, don’t talk to her. Seriously. Don’t. For the most part she comes off as hating sex, which is partly true. She hates what sex has become in todays society
